About HiTechBits
A tribute to a pioneering idea, reimagined by AI. A window into the future of automated media.
Inspired by a Friend
This site is dedicated to Kim, whose original work on hitechbits.com years ago planted the seed for everything you see here. Long before AI could write a line of code, Kim built a tech news hub from scratch — a labor of genuine passion for technology and community. That work was never forgotten. HiTechBits today is a tribute to that original vision: same name, same spirit, new era.
// ORIGIN
Where It All Started
Some ideas are too good to stay in the past. Years ago, a friend named Kim built hitechbits.com — a technology news site that brought together the latest in tech, curated by hand, driven by a genuine love of the subject. It was the kind of website that took real effort to maintain: sourcing stories, writing summaries, keeping the content fresh day after day. In its time, it was exactly what a tech enthusiast needed.
That site eventually wound down, as personal projects often do — but the idea stuck. What if hitechbits.com could come back? And what if, this time, it could run itself?
That question is what led to the version of HiTechBits you're reading now: a technology news aggregation platform designed and built entirely by artificial intelligence, in honor of the original. The name is the same. The mission — keeping people informed about what's happening in technology — is the same. But everything under the hood is new.
Then vs. Now
Kim's original hitechbits.com was hand-built and hand-curated — a real human behind every update. The new HiTechBits is built and maintained by AI, pulling fresh articles automatically from eight major tech publications every few hours. What once took daily effort now runs on its own. Kim's original vision, finally given the infrastructure it always deserved.
// TODAY
What HiTechBits Is Now
The modern HiTechBits is a fully automated technology news aggregator. Every element of this website — its visual design, its code, its content pipeline, and its server configuration — was conceived and constructed through a conversation between a human operator and an AI system. No traditional web developers. No design agency. Just a prompt, a vision, and a capable AI.
The site automatically pulls the latest tech news from trusted sources around the web, refreshes its content throughout the day, and presents it in a modern, gamer-inspired interface — all without any manual curation or editorial intervention. The result is a living, breathing tech news hub that updates itself, just as Kim's original did — only now it never sleeps.
// CONSTRUCTION
How It Was Built
HiTechBits was created through a collaborative process between a human operator and Claude, an AI language model developed by Anthropic. The process was entirely conversational — the human described what they wanted, and the AI produced working code in real time.
The build covered every layer of a modern web project:
⬡
Frontend Design
A full visual identity — color palette, typography, layout system, animations, and responsive breakpoints — designed and coded by AI with a gamer-cyberpunk aesthetic direction.
⬡
Backend Pipeline
A PHP-based RSS aggregator that fetches articles from 8 tech news sources, parses Atom and RSS 2.0 feeds, extracts images and metadata, and caches everything server-side for fast delivery.
⬡
Live Search
A real-time keyword search engine built in JavaScript — with debounced input, keyword highlighting, cross-source filtering, and keyboard shortcuts — written entirely by AI.
⬡
Server Automation
Cron job configuration, Apache .htaccess rules, PHP caching logic, and deployment instructions — all generated by AI and tailored specifically for cPanel/WHM hosting environments.
⬡
Debugging
When things broke — JSON parsing errors, layout overflow, disabled PHP settings — the AI diagnosed the issues, explained the root causes, and produced targeted fixes, iteratively.
⬡
These Pages
Including this one. The About, Sources, and Contact pages were all produced on request in a single conversation — researched, written, styled, and coded by AI without templates or boilerplate.
// SIGNIFICANCE
Why This Matters
HiTechBits is a proof of concept for a rapidly approaching reality: the ability for non-technical individuals and small businesses to build, deploy, and maintain sophisticated web applications through natural language conversation with AI systems.
Traditionally, a project like this would require a frontend developer, a backend engineer, a designer, and a DevOps professional — potentially weeks of work and thousands of dollars in labor. HiTechBits was built in a single extended conversation, by one person, with no prior web development experience required.
This isn't a future prediction. It's already happening — and HiTechBits is a live example of it.
// TIMELINE
Project at a Glance
Concept
Human operator describes desired website: tech news aggregator, gamer aesthetic, self-updating, hosted on cPanel.
Design & Build
AI produces HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP — complete file structure, visual design, backend logic, and deployment documentation.
Deployment
Human uploads files to cPanel server. AI provides step-by-step configuration instructions for PHP settings and cron job setup.
Iteration
Issues are diagnosed and resolved conversationally. New features — search, these pages — are added on request in minutes.
Live
HiTechBits is live, self-updating, and fully operational — a functional product delivered by AI from a standing start.
Managed by Galileo Systems Group
HiTechBits is maintained and operated by
